Watch: Dani Olmo receives special commemorative shirt to celebrate 100 Barcelona appearances Last week turned out to be a bittersweet one for Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo. Starting in the UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, the midfielder made his 100th appearance for the club, reaching a major milestone. However, the night in Paris ended in major disappointment for the Spanish international as he suffered an adductor injury that will keep him out for four weeks . To pile on his misery, Barcelona suffered a 4-2 defeat on the night, tasting their first loss of the 2026/27 season. Earlier today, though, the Catalan giants recognised the achievement by presenting Olmo with a special shirt in a ceremony with the full squad after the training session. The 2026 FIFA World Cup winner posed for a picture with his teammates who congratulated him on reaching the milestone with the Blaugrana . Two years, five trophies Olmo left Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy at a young age to join Dinamo Zagreb. He returned to the club a decade later in 2024, with the Catalans signing him from RB Leipzig. The Spaniard’s time back at his boyhood club has been far from straightforward – from early registration issues to constant injury problems, the road has not been easy. During his time with the Blaugrana , the 28-year-old midfielder has won as many as five trophies: two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups, and one Copa del Rey. Even though he has had to battle it out with Fermin Lopez for a starting berth, Olmo remains a key part of the plans for Hansi Flick thanks to his technical ability and versatile nature. For now, the Spanish international’s full focus will be on making a swift recovery from his injury so that he can return to playing for Barcelona.
