Confirmed: Barcelona starlet Iker Rodriguez signs new contract until 2029 Barcelona have officially announced that teenage goalkeeper Iker Rodriguez has signed a new contract with the club, tying down his future for three more years until 2029. The deal also consists of an option for the club to extend the deal by two additional years. “FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with Iker Rodríguez to extend his contract for three more seasons, until June 30, 2029. The agreement also includes an option to extend for two additional seasons,” the statement read. One for the future Iker Rodriguez has been at La Masia from a very young age and has been tipped for a bright future within the club. Aged just 16 years old, he had his first training session with the senior team back in 2024 and has since continued to make sporadic appearances in the first-team dynamics, without making his debut. Rodriguez did the full pre-season with the first team under Hansi Flick and was set to act as the third-choice goalkeeper until the signing of Dominik Livakovic. Following that, he moved down to Barça Atletic, where he has stood out with five clean sheets in eight games, conceding only four goals. Negotiations over a new deal for Rodriguez had been underway for some time now, especially after he attracted interest from several clubs in the summer. However, both the player and the club were always committed to extending their partnership, and have now successfully done so, with the 18-year-old signing a new three-year deal until 2029.
