It's time, English playmaker is now likely to return Liverpool
It's time, English playmaker is now likely to return Liverpool One English playmaker is now set to return to Liverpool and Andoni Iraola has what it takes to transform him. If there is one burden on the Spaniard's shoulders, it is the lack of depth in the Reds' squad. Liverpool have some excellent players. The kind of players coaches love working with. However, the squad depth is far from ideal. There's a big gap between those excellent players and the not so good ones. The good thing about Iraola is that, unlike his predecessor Arne Slot, who wanted to work with premium talent, Iraola is very open to giving his fringe players opportunities. He's got that confidence to back young players, and it seems like young players are also ready to prove themselves. Just take a look at how impressive Lewis Koumas has been. Liverpool's plans to solve squad depth One of the factors as to why the squad depth is so small at Anfield is because of the lack of homegrown players at the club. Over the course of the last two years Liverpool have allowed a lot of their academy graduates to leave. Tyler Morton, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher and many others are now catching the eye away from Anfield. Under Klopp, some of these players were key members of the starting line-up let alone the squad. Liverpool now don't quite have the same contingent behind their starting players. But there is a plan to promote exciting academy talent. There's high hopes for players like Mor Talla Ndiaye, Will Wright, Joshua Abe, Erik Farkas and Luca Eden in the academy. Harvey Elliott set to return to Liverpool and how Iraola can transform him One player who is supposed to be involved with this team is Harvey Elliott . At 16-years-old, he had such a bright future ahead of him. Liverpool fans adored him during the Reds' Premier League title triumph in 2024/25 but things have gone downhill for him ever since. The loan spell at Aston Villa was utterly torrid for Elliott. It felt like both Villa and Liverpool had betrayed him. His loan at Valencia hasn't gone any better for him. Valencia expert Julian Burgos told the Daily Mail that he believes Valencia could potentially exercise their option (if they have one) to terminate Elliott's loan deal in January. Given how things have gone for Elliott at Valencia that option looks more than inevitable. Which would see the Englishman coming back to Liverpool. If anyone can transform him and revive his career, it's Iraola. He's managed to get the best out of Koumas - just imagine what he could do with Elliott and all the potential he has.
