Barcelona midfield mainstay ‘extremely happy’ and has no intention of leaving amid Manchester United interest – Romano Barcelona have one of the best midfields in Europe, with Hansi Flick having a plethora of options at his disposal. The Catalan club have at least two players for each midfield role, with the likes of Pedri, Rodri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Marc Bernal, Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez making up the roster. One midfielder who has attracted considerable attention from across Europe is Fermin Lopez. He was linked with a move to Chelsea a couple of summers ago and now finds Manchester United interested in him. However, according to Fabrizio Romano , Fermin has no intention of leaving Barcelona anytime soon. The 23-year-old is extremely happy at the Catalan club. Barcelona determined to keep Fermin Lopez Transfer expert Matteo Moretto revealed that Manchester United had made enquiries about signing both Fermin and Atletico Madrid’s Pablo Barrios. However, neither enquiry has led to formal negotiations, with both Spanish clubs having no intention of selling their respective midfielders. Everyone at Barcelona considers Fermin an important part of the project, and Hansi Flick trusts him to start big games. Fermin Lopez will not leave Barcelona amid Manchester United interest. The numbers explain why the club are so confident about him. Fermin has already scored five goals and provided four assists in 12 appearances this season. The 23-year-old has managed to reach these numbers despite frequently having to share minutes with Dani Olmo. Fermin becoming increasingly important for Flick However, Fermin’s importance to Hansi Flick’s team extends beyond just his goalscoring and assist numbers. His intelligent movement into the penalty area, aggressive pressing and ability to score from distance are invaluable qualities for Barça . Although Barcelona have several technically gifted midfielders, Fermin offers something completely different. Fermin Lopez is determined to succeed at Barcelona. Fermin’s career shows that academy graduates don’t always have to be child prodigies to break into the first team. Manchester United’s interest shows just how highly clubs across Europe rate Fermin, and Barça should look to keep him for as long as possible.
