Confirmed: Real Madrid squad list to face Racing Santander – key midfielder out Real Madrid are set to travel to Cantabria as they face off against Racing Santander tomorrow in La Liga away at El Sardinero. Ahead of the flight to Santander, Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has announced the squad list of players available at his disposal for selection for tomorrow’s contest. The big news is that club captain Federico Valverde is not called up as he will be rested by Mourinho after his minor injury during last week’s El Clasico win over Barcelona. The midfielder has been absent from team training all week despite having not sustained a major injury, and Real Madrid have decided not to take any risk with their captain. Meanwhile, first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is back in the squad after missing the Clasico due to illness, which forced him to withdraw from the squad last minute. Rodrygo Goes, Raul Asencio, and Ferland Mendy remain unavailable for Los Blancos as they continue their recovery from their respective fitness issues. Vinicius Jr. is also unavailable as he is serving a four-match suspension, with this being the third of the four games. Youngster Thiago Pitarch continues to feature in the first-team squad, although he will hope to get some minutes on the field under Mourinho.
