a strong showing across both August and September, Manchester City faced their first
challenges in October and suffered their first defeats in both the UEFA Champions
League and Premier League. Despite these defeats, however, City remain well within contention for both competitions, and also defeated
Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup Fourth Round, setting up a meeting with League One side Bradford City in the competition’s quarter-final in mid-December. First, November, and a month that will bring about plenty of new challenges for the Sky Blues in the 2026/2027 campaign, with five
matches across the Premier League and Champions League. Manchester
City will begin November with a UEFA Champions League match away to RB Leipzig on Wednesday, 4 November - the seventh time
these two sides have faced each other in Europe's premier club competition. The most notable of these previous meetings arguably came during City's historic Treble winning season of 2022/23 and a clash in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, when Pep Guardiola's side defeated their German opponents via a staggering 7-0 scoreline. The Mancunians currently sit just outside of the top-eight teams in the Champions League’s league table, and will be hoping that victory against Leipzig will put them in the automatic knock-out phase qualification places - a target that would meaning avoiding an extra set of matches in the play-offs should
they reach that stage in January 2027. Following
the European outing, City will then shift focus back to the Premier League by travelling to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, 7 November - a game that the Blues have traditionally fared well in, having won two of their last three
visits to the City Ground. Several of City’s senior squad will then depart for international
duty - the final international break of 2026. Club football resumes on Saturday, 21 November as Enzo Maresca's side host Fulham in the Premier League, having won their previous three top-flight encounters against
the London outfit at the Etihad Stadium. UEFA Champions League duties are then due to return as Manchester City face Napoli on Tuesday, 24 November - the sixth time the two
sides have faced each other in the competition and another opportunity to welcome Kevin De Bruyne back to the Etihad Stadium. Manchester
City will then conclude November with a visit to North London as they face Arsenal on Sunday, 29 November. As
the Sky Blues prepare for the forthcoming run of matches, manager Enzo Maresca will look to rotate his Manchester City squad to avoid as many injuries as possible and retain the upmost energy in the process. The City boss certainly knows that fixtures
will continue to come thick and fast in December and January in particular, and will want to ensure
his squad is fully fit, especially as they continue to challenge for silverware
on multiple fronts in his first campaign in charge.
