Kylian Mbappe equals Zamorano’s tally after brace vs Racing Santander; eyes Ronaldo’s record Kylian Mbappe was on fire once again as Real Madrid maintained their winning run by beating Racing Santander 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. It was a business as usual performance from Jose Mourinho’s men, though not without its controversies, with Racing Santander facing a potential fine after fans threw a lighter onto the pitch. Mbappe himself was in the midst of a controversy following an early penalty. Nevertheless, it was a top class performance from the Frenchman who ended up bagging a brace and has now achieved a significant milestone. This list effectively counts Real Madrid’s highest goalscorers that are non-Spaniards. Mbappe, with his brace, has now scored 101 goals in 117 matches, thus equalling Ivan Zamorano, who needed 173 matches to reach that mark. The two share ninth and tenth place. It is an exceptional achievement for a player who had only joined the club a few years ago and is now already among one of Real Madrid’s top ten foreign goalscorers. (Photo by Juan Manuel Serrano Arce/Getty Images) Mbappe is expected to move further up to the table during the course of this season. His most immediate target is Ronaldo Nazario. The legendary Brazilian striker in eighth in the list with 104 goals for the club, a record Mbappe can break just by scoring four more goals. Mbappe can also beat Gareth Bale’s record, with the Welshman sitting seventh with 106 goals. The Frenchman may even be able to touch Gonzalo Higuain, who sits sixth with 121 goals. Mbappe is currently a bit far away from Vinicius Jr., who occupies fifth with 129 goals. However, it is unlikely Mbappe will reach the top of the pile, a crown held by Cristiano Ronaldo with a staggering 450 goals for the club.
