Chelsea Are In The Mix To Sign This Gifted Youngster: One For The Future?

Chelsea Are In The Mix To Sign This Gifted Youngster: One For The Future? In a recent print edition , AS claimed that Chelsea are in the mix to sign Real Madrid Castilla youngster Sergio Martinez. It is understood that the Blues could face competition from Red Bull Leipzig and Club Brugge in the race to land the Spanish prospect. Martinez’s Impressive Rise In Spanish Football Martinez has enjoyed a rapid rise in Spanish football and has managed to establish himself as a useful member of Real Madrid Castilla’s squad. The 19-year-old has already managed to feature in nine matches for his current team so far, but is still waiting to score his first goal for them in all competitions. The Spanish sensation is currently one of the most gifted central midfielders in his homeland. Hence, the Blues would do well to get a deal done for him next year. His current contract with Real Madrid Castilla will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on a cut-price deal this January or at the end of this campaign. Martinez is a good tackler of the ball and can make the odd interception for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a tidy passer as well from midfield. The Spanish sensation is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as an attacking midfielder if needed. Martinez has proven himself to be one of the brightest prospects in Spain. However, it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to snap him up next year. We can expect Martinez to bring more quality and depth to Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good sporadic piece in the West London club’s squad. At 19, the future looks quite promising for Martinez. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long term, so Alonso should focus on going all out to sign him soon.
