Across the course of his eight matches to date, the Italian referee has issued a total of 26 yellow cards, handing out no red cards or second yellow card dismissals, and awarding just one penalty. Wednesday night will also mark the first match involving Manchester City's senior men's team that has been officiated by Marco Guida, who has only previously come across the club on the pitch in the UEFA Youth League back in February 2016 - a 3-1 defeat for City's Under-19 side against Real Madrid in the Round of 16.
