Mourinho’s Real Madrid earns praise from former star: ‘The team is more united’ Real Madrid’s form is slowly but surely peaking, as every passing game sees the team play one notch higher than the previous one. Their biggest result so far, quite clearly, was the win over Barcelona last weekend. A brace by Kylian Mbappe saw Los Blancos take all three points from the Spotify Camp Nou, and the big question was whether the team could keep the momentum going. Last evening, they returned to the field against Racing Club away from home and racked up another dominant win . By the end of the first half, the result was already seemingly written in stone. Everyone is in their position, and everyone tracks back and does their defensive duties when required,” he said, as quoted by Defensa Central . He then specifically praised Jude Bellingham for the player that he is, and highlighted how he is a stellar goalscorer. “Bellingham is so good at making runs into the box. What a player! The way he attacks the far post is incredible.” The former player then spoke highly of Mourinho’s tactics and how the manager is not only playing to Real Madrid’s strengths but also capitalising on the opponents’ weaknesses. The team is more united, selfless and clear about what it wants to do. “It seems Mourinho has found his starting eleven, and at the same time, they’re neutralising their opponents.” “You improve your own game while limiting the opposition. Real Madrid had been missing that for a long time,” he added. Finally, the ex-player also spoke on the importance of man-management and substitutions in such games. “It was a game that was already under control. By the 60th minute, you should be making certain substitutions to manage the players’ workload.”
