Real Madrid forward becomes undroppable for Mourinho after seven wins in seven starts As highlighted by Diario AS , Yan Diomande is rapidly becoming an indispensable figure at Real Madrid, with the Ivory Coast winger playing a key role in the team’s improved form under Jose Mourinho. The 19-year-old summer signing, who endured a rather slow start to life in the Spanish capital, has hit a rich vein of form, making himself undroppable from the starting lineup. A special strike and an impressive streak Diomande’s brilliance was on display again this past Sunday as he starred for Real Madrid in their convincing win over Racing Santander, scoring a thumping golazo . As highlighted by the report, the Ivory Coast international’s stunning shot against the newly-promoted club travelled at a whopping 120.2 km/h, with the ball rotating at 3.3 revolutions per second. It was another in line of the brilliant goals he has scored so far this season, following the powerful right-footed strike from the edge of the area against Sevilla and the sensational volley in the win over RB Leipzig. Real Madrid have won all seven matches in which Diomande has started, while his contributions in the final third have helped the team build and maintain momentum. In all, Diomande has now racked up a tally of four goals and four assists each from 14 matches across all competitions. Contributions go beyond attacking numbers There is no disputing the influence that Diomande has had in Real Madrid’s recent run of form since October. Indeed, the summer signing has six direct goal contributions after the international break, while he has also completed 34 dribbles only five fewer than Kylian Mbappe. Putting pressure on Vinicius. Mourinho has also been impressed by his willingness to track back and contribute defensively, making him an increasingly valuable part of the manager’s plans. That aspect is something that could earn him an advantage over Vinicius , once he returns from his suspension. Mourinho did not rush things with Diomande, easing him into the thick of things, and the manager’s patience is paying off in a big way. What will be interesting to see is whether the 19-year-old keeps hold of his place on the left flank once Vinicius is available again.
