Tebas launches another attack on Real Madrid: ‘Their aim is to weaken La Liga’
Tebas launches another attack on Real Madrid: ‘Their aim is to weaken La Liga’ Speaking at a public appearance earlier today, La Liga president Javier Tebas has launched a fresh attack on Real Madrid, accusing them of unnecessarily dragging out the Negreira case and trying to damage the competition. The relationship between Tebas and Real Madrid has pretty much collapsed, with the two parties at loggerheads for some time now. Things escalated in recent weeks when the La Liga chief made a controversial remark, comparing Real Madrid TV’s methods to that of Nazi propaganda, prompting the club to demand his resignation . ‘Real Madrid want to weaken La Liga’ After an event in Barcelona, Tebas accused Real Madrid of opposing La Liga’s initiatives and using RMTV to damage the organisation and the wider competition. “They oppose everything La Liga does and causing us great harm with their television. This harm affects not only La Liga, but all the clubs in the competition. Their aim is to weaken La Liga in order to promote other competitions like the Super League.” Tebas and Real Madrid are on a warpath. Real Madrid thinks Negreira is in every referee’s dressing room at every stadium where Real Madrid plays. I remind Real Madrid that we went to the prosecutor’s office before Real Madrid did,” he said. Continuing, Tebas added: “The president of Real Madrid was on the board of directors for six months after the Negreira issue came to light. “In a general assembly, he defended the club of his then-friend while it was in the Super League. The day Barça left, it seems everything changed.” The La Liga chief then called Real Madrid’s ‘attacks’ on Barcelona unacceptable, saying: “It must be clearly stated that what is happening with the constant attacks against FC Barcelona is unacceptable because this is a drawn-out affair. “Barcelona will have to assume its responsibilities if necessary, but right now it cannot be blamed for anything because it is Real Madrid that is asking for the process to be prolonged.” Real Madrid have demanded for Tebas’ resignation. It’s clear they want to get rid of Javier Tebas. “I haven’t received any notification, but if they listen to what I said, it’s because they’re using methods that are studied in many universities.” Regarding China’s boycott of Real Madrid and La Liga over Kylian Mbappe’s comments on a viral meme, Tebas noted: “Mao is revered in China, and that should be respected. Saying that was an offense that we tried to minimize.” Source: AS
