Liverpool Are Set To Rival AC Milan For This Barcelona Left-Back: Should Iraola Go For Him? In a recent post on X , journalist Juan Jesus mentioned that Liverpool are set to rival AC Milan for Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde. It has been claimed that the Reds are eyeing a move to bring the Spanish talent to Anfield next year. Balde’s Important Role For Barcelona Balde has served as an important squad player for the Catalan club this season as he has put in a few solid displays for them on the left flank. The 23-year-old has featured in four matches for Barca in this campaign so far in various competitions. The Spanish talent is currently one of the most talented left-backs in La Liga . Hence, it is no wonder that the Reds are in the running to land him next year. His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Liverpool to land him on the cheap this January. (Photo by David Ramos/Getty Images) Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Go For Balde? Balde is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and excels at playing his way out from the back. The Spanish sensation is a good crosser of the ball as well and can chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team from the left flank. Balde is primarily a left-back but can also serve as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so. However, there are some concerns on whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Reds manage to snap him up next year. We can expect Balde to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s defence. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at Anfield in the coming years. At 23, the future looks quite bright for Balde as long as he continues to improve with each season. Hence, the Reds would be wise to go for a left-back of his quality in 2027.
