Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris remains under pressure, but… Despite a difficult start to the season, Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris retains the support of the club’s board and is expected to be given time to try to turn his team’s fortunes around, reports The Athletic . Currently bottom of the Premier League table, the Black Cats have won just one of their first nine league matches – a 1-0 victory over Fulham on 30th August. That record has been made somewhat less disastrous by the Stadium of Light side’s performances in Europe, as they have won two of their three Europa League group-stage matches. Appointed as Sunderland manager in the summer of 2024, Le Bris led the club to promotion to the Premier League for the first time in eight years and secured qualification for their first European competition since 1973. Whilst the pressure on the French manager is inevitably mounting, he nevertheless remains regarded as a key figure at the club, which have no plans to part ways with him at this stage.
