England handed France test in latest UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign England will face France, Austria and Portugal in the 2027 edition of the UEFA Women’s Nations League. The draw was conducted at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland this afternoon and was streamed live via the association’s official media channels. The Lionesses knew that they would face one top-ranked opponent in the UEFA Women’s Nations League and it has been determined that they will take on France. The two nations met in the 2024 UEFA Women’s Nations League and both won their away fixtures 2-1. Les Bleues then defeated England 2-1 at last year’s UEFA Women’s EURO in Switzerland. England will also face Austria and Portugal in next year’s tournament. The Lionesses beat those sides 7-2 and 6-0 when they last faced them. Portugal have twice held Sarina Wiegman’s side to draws in the past. The 2027 UEFA Women’s Nations League fixtures will take place in the February/March, April and June international windows and will potentially play a big part in England’s preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027. The competition will play out in the usual six-game group format with the group winners advancing to the semi-finals which will be contested in October 2027. Fixture dates, kick-off times, venues and ticket details will be announced in due course.
