Roma set new record for fastest brace at Old Trafford
Roma set new record for fastest brace at Old Trafford Roma made history at Old Trafford. Thanks to goals from Soulé and Malen, which came in the first 18 minutes of the match against Manchester United, the Giallorossi set a new record at the English stadium. Never before had a visiting team managed to score twice so early at Old Trafford in a major European match. Gasperini’s team broke the deadlock in the 11th minute through Soulé, before doubling their lead from the penalty spot seven minutes later through Malen. This figure applies to all major European competitions played by Manchester United at their home ground, which has never before seen the visiting team score two goals in 17 minutes of play. This start takes on even greater significance given the teams’ history. Roma had lost all four of their previous meetings at Old Trafford between 2007 and 2021.
