Match Officials: Sam Barrott to referee Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City (Premier League)

Match Officials: Sam Barrott to referee Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City (Premier League) Enzo Maresca and his players have a relatively tight turnaround from their European duties this week into another round of Premier League action, having returned from east Germany in the early hours of Thursday morning. Manchester City got the job done in their latest UEFA Champions League outing, maintaining their place in the crucial top-eight places of the league phase table with a view towards automatic qualification for the knock-out rounds of the competition. However, victory over Martin Demichelis' RB Leipzig was far from straightforward, with the Bundesliga side equalising on two occasions before Erling Haaland would convert Elliot Anderson's ball across the face of goal to take all three points back to Manchester. Prior to the Norwegian's 62nd goal in 61 Champions League appearances, a Castello Lukeba own goal had given City the lead in the first-half, before Ridle Baku would equalise shortly after the second-half resumed. Enzo Fernandez would regain the lead with a headed goal from Iliman Ndiaye's inch-perfect, in-swinging cross, only for Antonio Nusa to tie the scoring three minutes later, leaving his compatriot but opponent on the night in Haaland to win the game. Now, as attentions turn back to the English top-flight for the final time before the November internastional break, the Premier League have announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings between Nottingham Forest and Manchester City at the City Ground! Ahead of the weekend's fixtures, the Premier League have confirmed that Yorkshire's Sam Barrott has been appointed into the role of match referee for Nottingham Forest against Manchester City on Saturday evening. Manchester City have found themselves officiated by Barrott on seven occasions previously, winning four of those contests and losing the other three, receiving a total of 12 yellow cards in that period. As previously mentioned, the last time Sam Barrott and Manchester City came across one another was in the traditional curtain raiser to the season, and Enzo Maresca's side's 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in South Wales and the Community Shield. Assistant Referees Supporting Sam Barrott on the pitch at the City Ground this weekend will be Adam Nunn and Tim Wood , the Premier League have confirmed, with the pairing appointed as assistant referees for the contest.
