Real Madrid finalised Nadal appointment to board before El Clasico with only four people aware – report

Real Madrid finalised Nadal appointment to board before El Clasico with only four people aware – report Real Madrid had already reached an agreement with Rafael Nadal to join the club’s board of directors before their El Clasico, win, with only four people in the organisation aware of the arrangement, according to a report from AS .  The discreet agreement remained under wraps until club president Florentino Perez and the club’s leadership decided the moment was right to announce the appointment. Ultimately, Nadal accepted the invitation to become a club director , with his appointment now awaiting ratification at the General Assembly on November 21. As per the outlet, the agreement was reached following a couple of conversations between the former world number one and people close to the club.  Nadal was reportedly enthusiastic about the opportunity, having always considered it an honour to be associated with Real Madrid. Once the directors approved the proposal, the club moved forward with the announcement. Nadal’s appointment is particularly interesting given that his name had previously been connected with a potential challenge to Perez during Real Madrid’s presidential election campaign in June. The tennis legend had been linked to Enrique Riquelme because of their business relationship, but he dismissed suggestions that he intended to support a rival presidential candidacy. “I’ve read reports linking me to potential candidacies for the Real Madrid presidency. I’d like to clarify that this information is untrue,” he stated. Real Madrid prepare to welcome a sporting icon Nadal’s relationship with Florentino Perez is of utmost respect. Nadal’s arrival would add considerable sporting prestige and experience to the club’s board.  Apart from his obvious achievements in tennis, he has established a significant business presence through ventures such as the Rafa Nadal Academy. However, his appointment is not yet formally complete, as Real Madrid members must ratify the decision on November 21 before he officially takes his place on the board.
