West Ham are beatable - Blackburn boss Mowbray

Tony Mowbray says Blackburn will go all out for a win against West Ham and believes the Hammers are beatable. The Irons remain odds-on favourites for Championship promotion as they head to Ewood Park with Scott Parker now at the helm, having conceded three goals in each of their past three matches and having gone behind in the first half of 11 of their 17 matches in all competitions this season. "West Ham with 7,000 fans here, 60,000 at home, is a huge football club and they have a player who has very recently played for England in Jarrod Bowen," Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire. "It's an ask for us, but I'm sitting there watching West Brom beat them 3-1 (last Saturday) on my laptop. "West Ham are beatable. They lost their manager because they have lost too many games this year, I haven't seen a team that I think 'they are miles too good for us.' this season." Mowbray said despite back-to-back defeats by Swansea and Stoke, Rovers would stick to his philosophy of going for a win rather than trying to contain the Hammers, despite their individual talents. "We have to try to be the best version of ourselves, play the game we want to play and be fully aware of the individual talent and speed and power in their team," he added. "Athleticism and power is a huge attribute in the Championship, whereas in the Premier League everyone's got it. "It'll be a good challenge for us. Watching West Brom, they had enough of the ball, they aren't sitting back scared, waiting. "We have to take the game to them, be conscious of their talent and individuals who can hurt you at any moment, but get the ball forward, get men in the box, let's have a real go and be positive." Despite the disparity between the club's finances, Mowbray said the Championship was a great leveller, adding: "On any given Saturday it's not impossible. "We have to hope we turn up and West Ham leave thinking 'wow, where did that come from?' "They will expect to dominate the game and the ball and have the chances, but I am pretty hopeful we can ask them questions going the other way. "My philosophy is go and have a go and show them who we are, rather than try and stop them, everyone behind the ball and lose from a corner. "If we lose you take it on the chin, dust yourselves down and get ready for the next one." Defender Tom Atcheson will be assessed for a minor niggle but Ryan Alebiosu is a doubt as he awaits the results of a scan while Scott Wharton has continued his recovery with some under-21 appearances.
