Kone to undergo fitness test ahead of Sassuolo clash

Kone to undergo fitness test ahead of Sassuolo clash Roma could recover a key player for their match against Sassuolo, scheduled for tomorrow at 8:45 PM at the Stadio Olimpico. Gian Piero Gasperini hopes to be able to count on Manu Koné again, who has been sidelined in recent weeks with a muscle injury that has reduced the Giallorossi manager’s midfield options. The Frenchman is completing his recovery, and a decision on his possible call-up will be made in the coming hours.  According to today’s edition of Il Messaggero, out now, Koné underwent personalized training yesterday, an important step in his return to training with the rest of the team. The midfielder, who suffered a grade-one injury to his right hamstring during the match against Real Madrid, will undergo a trial today to assess his condition and determine whether he has the potential to return to the squad. The immediate goal isn’t necessarily to start, but to be available to Gasperini again after his time out. In the meantime, the coach will be able to rely on Marten de Roon, Bryan Cristante, and Niccolò Pisilli to fill the two midfield spots.
