Barcelona emerge as Bundesliga defender’s dream destination ahead of potential €65m summer transfer

Barcelona emerge as Bundesliga defender’s dream destination ahead of potential €65m summer transfer Castello Lukeba has taken a strong step towards a potential move to Barcelona next year, with the RB Leipzig defender viewing the Catalan club as one of his dream destinations .  The 23-year-old Frenchman is prepared to leave Germany next summer, when his release clause is expected to fall from €80 million to €65 million. According to journalist Philipp Hinze , Lukeba wants to take the next step in his career by joining a leading European club and strengthening his chances of becoming a regular presence in the France national team.  Barcelona’s interest could therefore develop into an important transfer story ahead of the 2027 summer window. Lukeba changes agents as Barcelona move into the picture It is crucial to note that the French defender has joined Excellence Sport Nation after ending his relationship with BS Group International.  Barcelona are Castello Lukeba’s preferred destination. The aforementioned move was a result of frustration at the failure to secure a transfer last summer, when Lukeba was already considering leaving Leipzig.  His new representative subsequently met Barcelona sporting director Deco towards the end of October, with the Frenchman’s situation and potential transfer discussed, giving Barcelona an opportunity to understand the financial conditions of a possible deal. €65m release clause could make summer move possible Notably, Lukeba’s release clause is due to decrease from €80 million to €65 million in June 2027.  Castello Lukeba’s release clause will drop to €65 million next summer. Lukeba’s preference for Spain gives Barcelona encouragement despite competition from Premier League clubs.  Furthermore, his left-footed profile also makes him a relevant candidate , although a €65 million investment would still be a significant commitment for the Blaugrana.
