Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has unfinished business with Diego Simeone ahead of Atletico Madrid clash

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has unfinished business with Diego Simeone ahead of Atletico Madrid clash The last few weeks have been terrible for Barcelona, starting with defeats to Real Madrid and PSG to the injury to star midfielder Rodri . But the Catalans will not let that hamper their form as they travel to the Metropolitano to face Atletico Madrid this weekend. After all, Barcelona are running the risk of losing out on the top spot in the La Liga table, if they succumb to a defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid. On paper, the record favours him a lot, with the Catalans leading on wins. Of those 12 meetings, 10 have come during Flick’s time at Barça, yielding six wins, one draw and three defeats. However, the stats do not tell the whole story as two of the three victories have come in a rather painful manner for Flick and his team. The scars of last season Both the defeats, in fact, came last season. The first came in the Copa Del Rey semifinal first leg, when Atletico Madrid secured an emphatic 4-0 win to leave Barcelona all but elminated. Although the Catalans made an admirable comeback in the second half, they were unable to completely overturn the sheer magnitude of the defeat. Simeone’s side won 2-0 in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal at the Camp Nou, a result Barcelona were unable to overturn at the Metropolitano. This effectively put an end to Barcelona’s hopes of winning the Champions League, much to the frustration of Flick. Now, that same Atletico Madrid side, who were defeated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, will have the opportunity to dethrone Barcelona at the top of the table this weekend. Hansi Flick, though, clearly has unfinished business and won’t let them have it easy.
