‘We are in a very good moment’ – Ruiz pleased with Brighton’s recent form

‘We are in a very good moment’ – Ruiz pleased with Brighton’s recent form Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Arturo Ruiz says that he is pleased with his side’s recent good form. The Seagulls have won four out of their last five games in all competitions ahead of this weekend’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur. When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Brighton & Hove Albion boss Ruiz said that his side are in a good place off the back of their recent results. “We are in a very good moment,” Ruiz said. “We need to keep our high-performance, keep balanced and keep our motivation for the next fixtures that we have. We are working with a very good rhythm, with a very good pace. I’m really happy with the momentum and recent results.” Brighton & Hove Albion came from a goal down to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 last time out. It is not the first time this season that The Seagulls have performed at their best later in games. Ruiz has been impressed with how his side have competed until the final whistle. He said “I think in our 11 games, the team have never thrown the towel in. They have worked hard in every game, that’s one of our characteristics. It demonstrates the attitude of the players and that’s huge. “We have a very competitive squad, a very competitive team and that’s something that’s going to represent us throughout the whole season.” Brighton & Hove Albion will meet Spurs for the second time this season. The Lilywhites won 1-0 in a Subway Players Cup fixture a little over a month ago. Ruiz said that his side are in a better place going into the latest fixture. He said “The starting XI’s on both teams were really strong and the substitutes as well.   “We knew it was an important game, we lost at home 1-0. We had really good chances to get points. It was one of those good performances where we didn’t get what we deserved or what we wanted. “Right now, we are a different team and we are better in all of the moments in the game. There’s no guarantee that we will get better results, but it’s our expectation and it’s definitely our target. We have learned a lot about that game and from all of the games that we have played so far. “We are very excited, very motivated and very confident about Sunday’s game. Having played against them before is very helpful.” Brighton & Hove Albion’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Tottenham Hotspur kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
