Newcastle United Starting XI vs Fulham: Confirmed Team News and Predicted Lineup Newcastle United Team News: Fulham Trip Comes With Midfield Problems Newcastle United head to Craven Cottage with a squad that looks stretched, particularly in midfield. The issue is straightforward, Matthias Jaissle could be missing as many as six players for the Premier League meeting with Fulham, and that changes the shape of the side. The biggest concern is Joelinton, who came off with an injury in the 1-0 defeat to Everton. There is no detailed timescale yet, which usually tells you one thing, nobody wants to commit too early. Jacob Ramsey is definitely out after his late red card in that same match, so Newcastle lose another midfield option through suspension. Tino Livramento remains sidelined with a knee problem, Ewen Jaouen is still out with a hamstring issue, and there are late checks to be made on Mathias Fernandez-Pardo and Lewis Miley. That is a long enough list already, and it leaves Jaissle with limited room to manoeuvre. Midfield Choices for Matthias Jaissle If Joelinton and Ramsey both miss out, Newcastle may have to trust youth. Sean Steur, only 18, is one option to slot into central midfield alongside Nico Gonzalez. The other route is simpler and probably safer, drop Joe Willock deeper and keep some structure in the middle of the pitch. Photo IMAGO If Willock does move back, the knock-on effect is obvious. Yoane Wissa would be well placed to return in support of William Osula, with Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes likely to provide the width. Likely Newcastle United Lineup At the back, Dan Burn and Fabian Schar have started the last three games together and are expected to keep their places. That would leave Malick Thiaw and Sven Botman waiting again. Amar Dedic and Lewis Hall should continue at full-back. In goal, Lukas Hornicek is set to stay in the side despite the mistake that gifted Everton the winner on Monday. Jaissle appears ready to back him. Newcastle United possible starting lineup: Hornicek, Dedic, Schar, Burn, Hall, Willock, Gonzalez, Elanga, Wissa, Barnes, Osula.
