3 Arsenal players get senior Spain calls, 1 in u21 squad Three Arsenal players have been included in the Spain squad for the November international break, whilst Cristhian Mosquera will be with the u21s. Photo by Jose Manuel Alvarez Rey/Getty Images Spain have confirmed Luis de la Fuente’s call-ups for the upcoming November international break, with Arsenal trio David Raya , Martin Zubimendi , and Mikel Merino all included. Cristhian Mosquera is also a Spain international, having made his debut for the side earlier this year. But rather than being called up for the senior squad on this occasion, he’s been included in the u21 squad . Kepa Arrizabalaga is the only Arsenal Spaniard not to be involved in either team, as he struggles for consistent minutes with his club. It’s now been more than three years since his last call-up. Spain have a 100% record in the group stage so far, and two more wins (or a win and a draw against England) would see them topping the group regardless of the other results. The good news is that their international duties will be wrapped up by next weekend, giving the players almost a full week to prepare for the following game against Newcastle United . Though based on prior experience, Raya, Zubimendi, and Merino are unlikely to be getting full 90-minute matches with Spain anyway. That will mean a slightly later return to Arsenal, but Mosquera is probably in need of the minutes after his recent injury, and he’s unlikely to start for the Gunners against Newcastle at the weekend.
