McAllister nets late winner for Swifts against Limavady
Irish Premiership Dungannon Swifts 3 - 2 Limavady United FT Sean McAllister struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Dungannon Swifts beat Limavady United 3-2 at Stangmore Park to end their eight-match winless run in the Irish Premiership. John Butcher gave the away side the lead on 52 minutes before goals from Andrew Mitchell and Kealan Dillon put the home side in front. It looked like Cahal McGinty's own goal had secured a point for newly promoted Limavady, only for McAllister to net through the last chance of the game. The result is Dungannon's first league win since September and they now move four points clear of the Roesiders. Late drama at Stangmore Park ends Swifts' winless run Both sides struck the woodwork during an entertaining goalless first half, with Butcher's looping header crashing against the crossbar after eight minutes before Paul Doyle curled an effort against the bar at the other end. Dungannon also came close when Junior capitalised on a mistake by goalkeeper Martin Gallagher, but Kieran Farren produced an overhead goal-line clearance. Limavady broke the deadlock six minutes after the restart when Ruairi Boorman combined with Philip Lowry before crossing towards Butcher, who fired a low effort through a crowd of bodies into the bottom corner. McAree responded with a triple substitution after 57 minutes, with two of those introductions proving decisive. Mitchell equalised in the 71st minute when he flicked Adam Glenny's cross from the left across Gallagher and into the far corner. Seven minutes later, fellow substitute Dillon completed the turnaround, collecting a deflected ball on the edge of the area before curling a low effort into the bottom-left corner. However, Limavady were level again after 84 minutes when McGinty inadvertently powered Daniel Lafferty's corner into his own net. With the match seemingly heading for a draw, Dungannon won a late corner after Gael Bigirimana's effort was deflected behind. Corey Smith delivered from the left and McAllister rose at the near post to power a header across goal into the opposite corner in the 91st minute, sealing a dramatic victory and ending Dungannon's long wait for a league win.
