Manchester City 1 Nottingham Forest 3: City player ratings as Forest sweep a frail City side aside

Manchester City 1 Nottingham Forest 3: City player ratings as Forest sweep a frail City side aside Manchester City 1 (Rayan Cherki 52′) Nottingham Forest 3 (Jair Cunha 6′, Liam Delap 18′, 73′) Here are the City player ratings as Enzo Maresca’s side slumped to a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at The City Ground. Once Jair Cunha capitalised on a Josko Gvardiol error the dye in today’s match was cast. Oliver Glasner’s side ruthlessly exposed the clear and obvious frailties in this City side. Liam Delap bagged a brace and although Rayan Cherki made it 2-1 after halftime it never seemed likely that Manchester City would pick up a point today. The City player ratings reflect a disappointing performance for Enzo Maresca’s side. There are now more questions than answers surrounding this City side after they lost their third consecutive match in the Premier League today. City player ratings. Gianluigi Donnarumma-5/10: There was nothing Donnarumma could do about any of Forest’s goals today. Abdukodir Khusanov-5/10:  Maresca has to stop playing Khusanov at right-back. He played into an issue in City’s system in the first half in the role before being switched to centre-back for the second half. Ruben Dias-4/10:  I thought Dias was poor defensively and in possession today. Marc Guehi-4/10:  Defensively, Guehi is devoid of confidence and looks lost. He did provide a good cross that Enzo Fernandez headed over but he isn’t in the team for that. His form is a major cause for concern. Josko Gvardiol-3/10:   It was Gvardiol giving away possession which led to Forest’s opening goal and set them on their way. The Croatian international is well off his best and the role he is playing has to be questioned alongside his form. Elliot Anderson-5/10: Not his best performance today in his return to The City Ground. Enzo Fernandez-5.5/10: I liked parts of the game of Enzo Fernandez today. He was always willing to receive possession and he got stuck in before being taken off. He was not City’s worst player of the day. Iliman Ndiaye-5/10: Ndiaye toiled away on the right wing all game. Rayan Cherki-6/10: Cherki grabbed the goal that gave City a lifeline. He lifted in the second half and I believe there is a tactical reason for that. Jeremy Doku-5/10:  Not at his best on the left wing today. He toiled away with no end product. Erling Haaland-5/10:  Haaland needs service and while he had a couple of chances he needs more than what was provided. Substitutes. Matheus Nunes-5/10: He and Nico O’Reilly turned the game after halftime. However, Nunes drifted out of the game after the hour-mark and was exposed defensively at times. Nico O’Reilly-6/10: O’Reilly was very good for 25 minutes after halftime. He took up dangerous attacking positions but drifted out of the game. Phil Foden-N/A: Not on long enough to mark.
