Liverpool Are Eyeing A Move For This Brighton Keeper: Should Iraola Go For Him? Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast , journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Liverpool are eyeing a move for Brighton and Hove Albion keeper Bart Verbruggen. O’Rourke said, “Liverpool, like all the top clubs, will be doing homework on a number of players and they’ll have contingency plans in place. “I’m sure all the top clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, will be keeping tabs on Verbruggen because he’s a top quality player and he continues to show that for Brighton. “He’s still only 24, playing regularly in the Premier League, and he’s a regular in the Netherlands national team as well. “So it will be more than just Liverpool who will be keeping tabs on him, but he is certainly somebody they could look at if they are forced to sign a replacement for Alisson.” Verbruggen’s Impressive Form In English Football Verbruggen has enjoyed a good run of form at the English club in this campaign so far after he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 24-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Seagulls this season, conceding seven goals and securing 11 clean sheets in the process across all fronts. The Dutch talent is currently among the most talented keepers in the Premier League. Hence, it is no surprise that the Reds are hoping to land him next year. Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Go For Verbruggen? Verbruggen is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make a few important saves at the back for his team. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well. Standing at 1.93m, the Dutch sensation can use his strong frame to dominate his penalty area. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League and won’t take any time to adjust to life at the Merseyside club. We can expect Verbruggen to add more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Anfield. At 24, Verbruggen has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Reds to consider this January or next summer. All in all, Iraola would be wise to go for him in 2027.
