Real Madrid ease past Valencia after sensational display from Arda Guler Arda Guler produced a sensational display to help Real Madrid beat Valencia 3-0 at the Mestalla Stadium on Saturday. The Turkish footballer bagged a goal and an assist, as Madrid recorded their fourth straight La Liga victory. Los Blancos now trail leaders Barcelona only on goal difference ahead of the Blaugrana’s away trip to Atletico Madrid on Sunday. Guler was Madrid’s standout performer Valencia’s plan was to defend deep with five at the back, but Jose Mourinho’s men still managed to create chances. Federico Valverde drilled home the opener in the 28th minute after Kylian Mbappe’s free-kick came back off the wall. Guler extended Madrid’s lead eight minutes later, volleying into an empty net after Jude Bellingham’s cross was deflected into his path. The 21-year-old continued to cause problems for the opposition with his brilliant through balls. Guler found Kylian Mbappe with a dangerous pass in the 75th minute, who rounded goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski before firing home his 13th La Liga goal of the campaign. To make matters worse for Valencia, captain Jose Gaya received a red card for bringing down Mbappe in the twilight of the match. Guler had 67 touches in the game and completed 86 percent of his passes. He registered three key passes and had two shots on target. The young forward lost possession 16 times, won seven of his 11 duels and made two defensive contributions. Guler has arguably been Madrid’s best player this season. The Turkey international mostly played in midfield last term, but Mourinho has largely been utilising him as a right winger. He has thrived in the role, as he has bagged four goals and seven assists in 14 matches in all competitions. Guler is highly versatile and is renowned for his passing, dribbling skills and composure under pressure. With players heading off to represent their national teams, Madrid are not back in action until November 21st when they meet Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu.
