Barcelona firmly rule out Aston Villa move for La Masia sensation, new contract possible – Romano Barcelona have another exciting La Masia talent coming through the ranks, with Ebrima Tunkara considered the next big thing in the academy. Hansi Flick first brought the 16-year-old into the first-team picture during pre-season, when he managed to make an impression. Tunkara subsequently suffered an injury that saw him miss several months of action before returning a few weeks ago. Dani Olmo’s absence meant Hansi Flick called him up to the first-team squad against Alaves last weekend. While he may not have made his Barcelona debut yet, Tunkara’s potential is obvious, and he has already started attracting interest from elite clubs across Europe. The journalist also suggested that the Catalan club already have plans to offer him a contract extension. “I wouldn’t be surprised if the club decided to discuss a new contract with Ebrima at some point in the coming months,” Romano revealed. Tunkara already has a contract until 2029, having signed an extension earlier this year. However, Barça appear keen to double down on their commitment to him. Romano believes Tunkara will be the next La Masia gem to make his debut for Barcelona. “I think Ebrima Tunkara will be the next La Masia gem to make his first-team debut for Barcelona,” he predicted. Romano’s words clearly reveal the admiration Barcelona have for the 16-year-old gem. He has performed exceedingly well despite his young age, and it remains to be seen whether he makes his debut for Barça in the coming games.
