Jeglertz pleased with Manchester City’s hunger in victory against West Ham

Jeglertz pleased with Manchester City’s hunger in victory against West Ham Manchester City head coach Andrée Jeglertz was pleased with how his side keep searching for more goals in their 5-0 win over West Ham United at The Joie Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Khadija Shaw netted a hat-trick while Aoba Fujino and Iman Beney were also on target in the rout. Speaking to the media after the game, Jeglertz admitted that he was pleased to see his side hungry for goals. “I think that shows something about the group that even though we scored, we want more,” Jeglertz said. “We made some substitutions and they came in with new energy, so that was amazing.” Forward Shaw made her 150th WSL appearance, scoring a hat-trick. Jeglertz shared his thoughts on the player’s achievements. He said “She scored a hat-trick, she gave us the three points and being part of that and she was also working hard for the team. I’m so happy for her. It was good to get the opportunity to get her off and rest her a little before this busy period.” Manchester City now face two away fixtures in quick succession with trips to Inter Milan and Chelsea in the next week. Jeglertz revealed his plan for these upcoming games. He said “We love to play games. We need to manage the squad in a good way, making sure that we can get a good balance of how we play the game on Tuesday, but also how we manage going into Chelsea next weekend. These two games will be crucial to manage this. “I think for the players, they are keen on directly starting their recovery to take care of their bodies. Moving on to the next game, of course, it’s a very short turnaround and to be on it again, it’s definitely going to be challenging, but we are professionals, players and staff, so we will manage that. “We need to keep building on the confidence, keep on believing in what we’re doing and finally, going away and managing the squad because some players might need to play in diffrent positions. We managed this period of time, but we just need to keep on having our confidence because that’s the main thing.” Manchester City travel to Inter Milan for their next UEFA Women’s Champions League fixture on Tuesday night.
