Newcastle United sign Charlton Athletic keeper Pedersen on emergency loan
Newcastle United sign Charlton Athletic keeper Pedersen on emergency loan Newcastle United have completed the short-term signing of goalkeeper Anna Pedersen on an emergency loan deal from Barclays Women’s Super League club Charlton Athletic. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this afternoon. The 24-year-old former England youth international keeper will spend the next seven days on Tyneside. She will provide goalkeeping cover in her short time in the North East. Pedersen has spent the last 15 months with Charlton Athletic after joining the South East Londoners from FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club Rugby Borough in summer 2025. She was a play-off winner with Charlton Athletic last season and has remained with the club for their debut campaign in the Barclays Women’s Super League this term. The keeper spent her early years in the academy system at Leeds United before moving to Everton. A spell at London City Lionesses followed, but the player’s progress was hindered by a long-term injury. Pedersen returned to fitness in a spell with Rugby Borough. Pedersen went straight into the Newcastle United squad for this afternoon’s Barclays WSL2 fixture against Burnley at St. James’ Park. The player was named amongst the substitutes for that match.
