PLAYER RATINGS | Rennes 1-2 Lille: Soriba Diaoune and Nathan Ngoy propel Les Dogues up to second place Ligue 1 McDonald’s, Matchday 10, 08/11/2026 Le LOSC Lille s’est offert un succès capital sur la pelouse du Stade Rennais (1-2), qui ont concédé leur première défaite à domicile de la saison. The match Lille didn’t set the world alight, but they were certainly clinical. For whilst they managed just three shots on target at Rhoazon Park, Davide Ancelotti’s men saw two of them find the back of Brice Samba’s net. The first, scored by the in-form Soriba Diaoune, gave the Dogues the lead (0-1, 25th). The second, from Nathan Ngoy, sealed the victory (1-2, 66th). This clinical efficiency was certainly lacking in a Rennes side that enjoyed more possession and were more enterprising, but whose decision-making in the final third proved costly. This was despite an almost immediate equaliser from Boulaye Dia (1-1, 31st) and a huge chance created by Mousa Al-Tamari, who had come on a few minutes earlier (65th). But Lille, buoyed by their status as the league’s best defence, held firm. In contrast, their Rennes counterparts conceded their 20th and 21st goals of the season this afternoon. A record far too poor to hope to overcome a side now certain to go into the winter break in second place in the league. Rennes player ratings Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal – 6 Mahamadou Nagida – 6 Eliezer Mayenda – 2 The young French forward is certainly having a difficult start to his time at Stade Rennais. He was barely noticeable this afternoon, failing to pose a threat to the Lille defence and looking very sloppy on the ball. He was the first player to be substituted by Franck Haise. Lille player ratings Berke Özer – 6 The Turk didn’t have a lot to do. But he did what he had to do well. Facing Al-Tamari, he notably denied Rennes a 2-1 lead, whilst his team-mates scored the goal that made it 1-2 just a few seconds later. Nathan Ngoy – 6 Tanguy Nianzou – 7 Alexsandro – 7 Calvin Verdonk – 6 Ngal’ayel Mukau – 6 Nabil Bentaleb – 5 Benjamin André – 6 Ethan Mbappé – 6 Hákon Haraldsson – 6 Soriba Diaoune – 7 Diaoune is on cloud nine. Having already scored a brace against Galatasaray and provided an assist against Monaco, the young Lille winger shone once again on the pitch at Rennes. After scoring the opening goal of the match with an instinctive strike, the Frenchman then treated himself to a – more or less – decisive pass to cap off his performance. GFFN | Léo Aschi
