Crystal Palace set to sack Pierre Sage following Liverpool defeat

Crystal Palace set to sack Pierre Sage following Liverpool defeat Crystal Palace are reportedly set to part ways with Pierre Sage following the Eagles’ 1-3 defeat away to Liverpool on Sunday, according to reports from The Athletic . Currently bottom of the table and boasting the league’s worst defence (24 goals conceded), the London club have won just two of their 10 Premier League matches this season. Appointed as Oliver Glasner’s successor last summer, Sage has won just five of his 15 matches in all competitions (with three draws and seven defeats) in charge of Crystal Palace. Initially signed on a three-year contract, the former Olympique Lyonnais and RC Lens manager will therefore see his English adventure – his “dream” – come to an end with the upcoming international break. Thomas Frank and Sean Dyche, who left their former clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest respectively, in February, are reportedly among the candidates being considered to replace the Frenchman. Coventry City manager Frank Lampard, whose side currently sit 17th in the Premier League, is also said to be favoured by the Selhurst Park hierarchy. GFFN | Léo Aschi
