As per an official statement published at Monday lunchtime , Real Madrid have confirmed the arrival of Cucurella, noting that “an agreement for the transfer of the player, who will be linked to our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032.” Cucurella will jet into the Spanish capital once his involvement at the 2026 World Cup is over, at which point he will sign his new contract and be presented alongside Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. It means that €110m has been spent on left-backs in the last 12 months, after Alvaro Carreras joined from Benfica last summer in a deal worth €50m. Cucurella has all the makings to be a success at Real Madrid, and given the investment made for him, club bosses will certainly hope that he continues to prove himself as one of he best left-backs in world football.
